Information on your device
Pantry ingredients, dietary preferences, saved recipes, meal entries, estimated savings, shopping lists, reminder settings, and usage dates are stored locally. Dietary settings help filter recipes; they are not sent in our advertising events. Native authentication sessions are stored using the operating system’s secure storage.
Guest identity and subscriptions
Supabase creates a guest user identity for service access. RevenueCat uses the same identifier to manage subscription status. Apple or Google processes store payments; we do not receive your full payment card details. RevenueCat and our backend process purchase and entitlement information to provide paid features and verify access.
Ingredient photos
When you choose Analyze, your selected photo is transmitted through our Supabase service to Google Gemini to identify visible food ingredients. Taking or selecting a photo alone does not upload it to this analysis service. Review the result before adding ingredients. Our implementation does not save images to a photo database or intentionally log image contents. Processing providers may retain request or operational data under their own terms and settings; we do not promise immediate deletion by those providers.
Usage and attribution
The app integrates AppsFlyer to measure installs, sessions, and limited subscription-related events. It can associate an AppsFlyer identifier with RevenueCat attribution. This information can include device and network information processed by those services. The app requests iOS tracking permission before using advertising identifiers and respects the resulting choice. Photos, pantry contents, and dietary preferences are not included in our analytics event payloads. There is no AdMob or in-app advertising.
Service security and retention
Our backend stores per-user scan counts by date to enforce usage limits. Service providers may process logs, IP addresses, and technical metadata to operate and protect their services. Local data remains until reset or removed through app/device controls. Service-side identity, purchase, and operational records are retained as needed for providing services, security, accounting, and applicable obligations; request deletion or further retention information by contacting us.
Your choices
Camera and photo access are optional. You may deny tracking and notification permissions in device settings. You may request access, correction, or deletion of service-side personal data by contacting us; we may need to verify the request. Subscription cancellation is separate from data deletion. The app currently uses guest sessions; optional account registration and branded authentication email are still being prepared.
Providers and international processing
We use Supabase, Google Gemini, RevenueCat, AppsFlyer, and the applicable app store. They may process data in countries other than your own. This website’s hosting provider processes requests and technical information needed to deliver its pages. We do not add advertising pixels or analytics scripts to this website.
Children and updates
Use It First is intended for a general adult audience and is not directed at children under 13. Contact us if you believe a child has provided personal information. We will update this policy as functionality or data practices change and revise the effective date.
